I saw a few older threads on this model, but not much current - wondering if you guys can give me some quick feedback. TIA

I have the opportunity to pick up a NIB blue steel 559 with 2 mags, cleaning kit, and manual for $700 cash/carry. Gun broker has exactly 1 nickel plated (used but good shape) for $685. Other online searches turn up very little 'current' pricing on these. I understand that there were not many made, but that collector interest is not strong for some reason.

What do you guys think? As an aside, can anyone confirm if 559 mags are the same as later 59xx series mags and will work in my Marlin Camp 9???

Thanx again!

Wayne,
That is too high even though the 559 is a very cool steel blued gun with only a small number of examples. I and a few other collectors find them worthy of collecting it doesn't make them worth a ton. I would think in the $500 range would be top end. And all the 3rd gen 59 series mags work.
Good luck.

I dont know where you guys live that you can just go pick up a 559 any day for $500. Around here that would be a steel (pun intended)

Some dude around here sold a hard chromed 559 for $600 recently. They just dont appear.

Thanx for the replies. I really appreciate the feedback. I passed on the pistol, but wonder why the collector interest is so weak with only a couple thousand made. It seems like it could/should be a pretty nifty gun to have unfired/NIB.
