...Some of the wildfire devastation in the distance. As we travelled from BC to Alberta the devastation increased, I think.
The wildfire damage in BC & AB in the last few years has been devastating.
This is a report from a year ago:

Even the mayor's house didn't escape. Totally destroyed :(

Was living in Utah when Yellowstone burned. Devastation was so bad it was assumed it would take decades to recover. Drove through the park every year afterwards and was amazed how quickly it bounced back. Five years after and you had to look hard to see anything charred. Nature finds her way...

It’s only been a year in BC and from what our tour director, born eastern Canada, told us tall pines, the bulk of the devastation, take longer to replace.
The lodge in Jasper was spared except for one guest cottage.
