Help with value please

I purchased a SW 66-1 6 inch new in 1978 and never fired it. Standard issue with target grips, nothing special. It's still in the box with all tools and docs.

There's nothing like it on the gun auctions.

What say you concerning value?

OK, I'll be the first guesser.

Around here, a no-kidding new in the box Model 66 with all the goodies would be at least a $600 gun, with some places charging considerably more.

yessir, around here they push well into the mid and up $500-550 range.
Does yours have the stainless rear sight and stainless front? or the later, dark one, with a red ramp front??
sounds nice to me either way.......should sell itself...............

From waht You are saying , I got a revolver like this for 500.00 TOTAL. I would feel like I got it for free....... and it goes up form there.

On an unfired and properly stored 1978 six inch 66-1, I figure its worth AT THE VERY LEAST what someone would have to pay for a brand new similar S&W revolver. NOT LESS. There are TONS of people in my circles who ONLY buy PRE LOCK/MIM revolvers.

I sold one like you have last month for $600. It was NIB and went several rounds on GB before it sold. Note - only 66 no dash will have stainless front and rear sights. Never made a 6" in no dash.
