Helping Others Find Ammo

Is it just me or do others have issues posting links to websites that have 22lr inventory? Don't get me wrong, I love to share & enjoy helping others. My concern is resellers are lurking here & using our contacts to grab up all available inventory before the normal user has a chance to get some. And then if gunbot finds the site then everything gets scooped up within seconds.

I do understand normal users are getting some ammo using links provided here but do others worry about publicly listing a source? I personally prefer to send a PM to someone that has stated their issues. Last week I posted a link for some .223 ammo & it was snatched up in seconds. Makes me wonder it was resellers grabbing it.

I posed this same question on another forum I'm on and many others said that they are NOT posting things they are finding because it often times ends up on the board at panic prices. I agree. I keep things to myself, not to hoard it all but to stop the gouging/reselling.

If you happen to be reading a thread & see where an individual is having trouble getting some, I suggest sending them a PM & then state to not post your link.

I agree. I think the ammo in stock thread has become self defeating.

I no longer even trust the 22lr thread. I feel most of the posts where people say they score huge amounts of ammo is bogus. Even when someone states a local store has some no one will say where it is.

It seems the majority of the posts are not on topic of the original post. That thread has gotten out of hand and I for one will wait it out.

Most ammo is gone within minutes of it becoming available anyway. There are people lining up waiting for stock to come in at a lot of places. I'm glad I have my 6,000 rds of .22lr. (Though I DO need .22 magnum!!) I can't get out to shoot as much as I'd like, so it should last me a while. I only have about 350 rds of .40S&W, 100 rds of 9mm, 75 shotgun rds, 5 .50 BMG, and a handful of 7.62. Though I keep looking whenever I get out, most places run out quickly. Online is worse.

I've been noticing a large amount of new members who only post or view one thread. Anyone care to guess which one it is? Yup. The 22lr in stock thread.

I would be willing to bet as soon as all this is over they all disappear.

Been trying for 2 weeks, 8 different Walmarts, 3 Acadamys, Bass Pro and Cabellas, nothing! Called today and the girl said they got a big shipment of 22 ammo in so I rushed to Walmart only to find out it was all CCI maxi mags! Guy told me they expect a big shipment tonight so I have my fingers crossed for 5am!

Thats a good Idea, easy to weed out postwhores that way too.

I believe I would not be able to view it either, but I'm happy to earn it with valuable posts.
