Henry Big Boy

Hey. I recently picked up a Ruger New Vaquero in .357. My first magnum. I also have a 686+ coming. I'm thinking I need a companion rifle in the same caliber. Was looking at the Henry Big Boy line. Specifically the 16" color case hardened side gate model. Anybody have experience with these? How do they compare to other manufacturers .357 rifles? Does someone make a tang or receiver sight for the Henry? If you have pics, post them. I like to drool.

Right now, they’re pretty hard to find unless you know a dealer with some connections. The 16” barrel side gate case color finish guns are being scalped on gb for a few hundred over msrp. I’ve been looking for awhile at gun shows and elsewhere for a .357 lever gun and finally ended up just getting one off gb myself. I “settled” for the Henry 20” barrel blued gun with side gate and large loop lever. I mainly wanted the side gate, and even though I’d rather have the 16” CC finish, I think I did OK at $960. I’ve seen this same model go for $1100+ in some instances and got out bid on a few before I won this one. I was a little surprised actually when it did hammer at $960. I’m hoping to shoot it this weekend. I love the feel and the look of it.

Everything is hard to find in this neck of the woods. Don't ask me how hard I looked for my 686+. It is what it is. Be sure to give a range report!
