I sure hope this snow stops sometime soon. We got 3 or 4 inches on the 2nd and it almost all thawed off on the 3rd and I replaced the power steering pump on my Toyota 4WD that my son has been driving till it needed worked on. I am gonna keep it here till the snow is over. I don't like being out here in the boonies with 2 kids, 4 and 10, and a 2WD. Sometimes it just gets to deep, plus, I have a weak heart and my bowels move easy. ;) The snow in the first picture was almost gone completely, 2/2/14, and today we got another 3" at least and at the present time it is sleeting. I'm tired of it. At least I can make it to town if I run out of beer. :D
Peace,
Gordon
Oh yeah, gun forum=gun picture. My absolute favorite, 65-4:p

We are supposed to get ~9" over night tonight and then the storm coming on Sunday is supposed to be "worse".

So put on your big boy pants! :p

I just noticed you are Army. Your belly achin' makes sense now! LOL

I guess 3 or 4 inches can be pretty bad, especially if you aren't used to having the white stuff around on a regular basis.

Normally, around here, we don't measure snow by the inch. We measure it by the foot. Unfortunately, we haven't been getting as much as we need this winter, so unless we start getting a few major storms pretty quick, our water supply is going to be darn lean this summer.

We're getting ice, not snow, and I have somewhere I have to be in the morning. Doesn't look too promising--I'd much rather have snow.

Eh we got 10 inches Sunday into Monday and tonight overnight we are expecting another 4-8 with quarter inch of ice and possibly another foot on Sunday again

I would rather get the snow but there calling for some global warming freezing rain and ice here.

Some snow flakes fell for about 10 minutes about 3 this afternoon. None of it lasted on the ground. I think this is our "token" winter. :D

We are getting 8-10 inches tonight and i'll have the snowblower
out by 9 AM
What was the big deal about again ????

Chuck

You people seem to be getting more snow then us in the snowbelt. We received about 4" the other day but nothing coming in the ten day forecast. What we have is cold. Nothing higher than about 17 degrees for the next week and always below zero at night. Heating bill looks like the national debt.

Had about an inch Monday in Boston, today we are suppose to get 6-9. I'm looking out the window, nothing yet.

I'm on alert, snow shovels, LL Bean boots, Stormy Kromer hat, gloves, all ready to go.

Let's get it on.

we got with several inches of snow last night and early this morning all the schools are closed and the snow is still coming down! Winter is Terrible! really terrible!

This winter seems about right from those I remember from my youth. Of course there's been forty-some years of "milder than normal" winters since then. We always had huge snow piles along the driveway from the constant shoveling (Dad bought his first snowblower the first year I moved out...). We dug out igloo-like forts in the big ones and connected them with series of tunnels...I suppose that would be too dangerous nowadays. It is certainly much less fun now when it becomes mostly about battling your way to work and back everyday. Hard packed snow and ice remaining on many roads from an ice/snow storm in December - it hasn't been warm enough for the road salt to work, and now there's a salt shortage to go along with a propane crisis. I pretty well expect as much every year, so I'm prepared for it - doesn't mean I have to like it though. I normally enjoy the first couple months of winter, then my attitude starts to turn. I hope it doesn't last into May like last year!!!
