We've had a couple of cold nights and chilly days. There's been ice on the water troughs the last three mornings. So, I figured it was time for some homemade soup.

This is my old standby. Beef, vegetables from the garden that Ms. Judy put up this fall, plenty of broth, and that's about it. The good smell is starting to permeate the house as the big pot is simmering on the back burner.

I've also got some rolls rising, so Ms. Judy and I will be feasting on vegetable beef soup and rolls tonight. With a fire going in the wood stove, it can't get much better than that.:)

That sure looks good, anything made with home grown veggies and beef is so much better.

The MBH did a new to us recipe for chicken pot pie that was very good and timely. It stormed and rained a lot today, and is turning cold for a few days, with frost forecast.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

We had a Church small group dinner of some mixed up Italian recipe. They called is chicken tortellini. It looked pretty bad but tasted great. It had the appearance of chopped up chicken lasagna under the top layer of cheese!

And some blessed soul made Tollhouse Chocolate Chip brownies. I skipped almost everything else.

That looks good Mule Packer, you've tickled my taste buds and I may have to work up a bowl of homemade soup.

Interestingly enough, we've seen another wave of cool weather come through the Ozarks the last few days and I was looking for something "warm" for supper last night. I pulled out a bag of hand made tamales from the fridge made by a local guy that are really good. I adorn them with my own fixings and they are not for the faint of heart, but guaranteed to warm you up on a chilly evening.

Reminded me of my sweet wife when I saw the jalapenos piled on top.

Have a blessed day,

Two hours later they should be warming up the whole house.

We used to have church dinners sometimes. My Pastor told me "You must be the Cookie Monster". I said "Wherever 2 or more cookies are gathered together, there will I be also."
