I don't know of really any case where removing matching numbered magna grips from a working gun and selling them separately is an intelligent financial decision...
"Financial decision" is the operative phrase.

If your "collection" matters to you.....OK. If you expect to make money selling it eventually, maybe it's a bad move. If you intend to keep the collection, then what's the difference? If in the end your heirs will sell it all, who cares?

These days the "collectors" of the era want black plastic. Wheelguns are Boomer guns. In a few years possibly old revolvers will have little value anyway.

The bottom line is that we do what we want and nobody should advise us otherwise.
