Pictured are some Honduras grips I bought off Ebay for my Model 57. They were packaged in a Herretts cardboard/plastic package and advertised as "new".
From the side they look O.K. From the rear, there is a substantial gap at the bottom of the grip frame.
Makes me wonder if they were "factory seconds"??

I would not be surprised if they were "factory fakes".
The contours just don't look as well engineered as the real thing.
Compare them to the models at Herretts web site.
Herretts also have brass grommets that accept the pin at the bottom of the frame.
To compare, Spegel just drills holes in the wood for this.
My custom Herretts have my name written in them too from the factory.

But... If they work for you, who cares about the fine print :) Ergonomics is the important part.

As mentioned, without checking the backside, it's possible they could be fakes but I've seen other grips with the same gap. Otherwise they look good on the your gun. Was price in line with other similar Herretts? I might contact Herrett to see if they've had any reports of fakes, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
There are fakes of various items floating around. Cold Steel knives are ones that I recently ran across.
Cold Steel vs Counterfeiters

They are not Herrett's as in Steve Herrett's gun stocks I bought a pair of these years ago thru eBay on receiving them realized they were not what I had thought, the seller offered a refund but for the money they were not all that bad. If I remember correctly they the imposters spell the name differently

Here's a couple pictures of the grips packaging as received.
Herretts is spelled correctly and the grips have the bushing.
Problem is, they do not feel right in my hands...they are too small compared to the factory target grips, so I will try to swap or sell them.

Packaged different than the ones I got but Herrett's is in Idaho is return an option? The seller may not want you pointing out his grips are not the originals whose name they are playing on.

I have an older set of Herretts grips which are unused and still new in the box for S&W K frames. The side of the box goes on to list the various models. There is sticker on the back of the left hand grip which states:
A Genuine Herrett's Model RK
I didn't realize how nicely these were made until I just looked at them.

I have a N set of Herrett grips, and a K set. If memory serves me right, they were bearing Herrett stickers inside. This may be a practice they no longer use. Bob

It wouldn't surprise me. These grips came with other stuff I got at a sale awhile back. They are packaged in a cardboard box the certainly shows some age.

Sorry, but Herrett doesn't make a "Classic Style". Look at their web site at models available. Revolvers; Target, Jordan Trooper, Trooper with finger grooves, Roper, Detective, Custom Shooting Star and Custom Shooting Master. Nothing called " Classic"
And if they were Herretts there would be no gaps. I have several Herrett's and they are truly custom stocks ( Herrett has always called them stocks) and they are usually in American Walnut. Other woods are a special order item. Sorry you been hoodwinked, but for the price you probably paid they look good.
