Wow....opened up ye old Forum moments ago and see at least 8 maybe 10 of the new posts are about S&W snubbies, some target, some fixed, some engraved even. Thought I would add my latest acquisition while browsing one of my favorite pawn shops. No box or docs, just a super clean Model 34-1 that Mike Helms over on the SWHF forum said shipped in August 1973. Yep...it is a 22 LR so I really don't even know if or when I'll shoot it. I can hardly even spot any turn line, so I'm guessing it has spent the last 52 years hiding in somebodies sock drawer. The right grip panel is serial numbered to the gun. I tried some empty casings and yep....the chambers are real tight so I'll have to place myself at the bottom of the 22 Manson loaner reamer list program that is currently running.

Anyway.....enjoy some pics of my pea shooter.M34-1 e.webpM34-1 f.webpM34-1 j.webpM34-1 n.webp

I just picked up one today. 34 no dash. Flat latch, diamond escutcheons on the grips. 4 digit serial. I also picked up a pencil barrel 64, no dash. Grips weren't period correct, so i put a set i had hanging around on it.

That's a real beauty! Congratulations on the find!

I just picked up one today. 34 no dash . . . 4 digit serial.
Something is amiss here. If it is marked MOD 34, it cannot have a four digit serial number. The .22/32 Kit Gun was well into five digits by 1955. I have one above 32000 that shipped in January 1958 and isn't model marked.

It's not model marked. It's a pre-34. Sorry, was not specific @ that.
