Happy to be here because I know enough to know I don't know much of anything when it comes to S&W. I have an infinity for the begin for N frame revolvers. I started in 1980 straight out in the military working for a federal law-enforcement organization that shall we say worked the border area.

Back in the day the USBP veterans carried 5 inch model 27, and for off-duty if you could find one you got a 3 1/2 inch model 27. Three departments later I have carried the model 57, carried the model 28, 25-5 and a model 24. No N frame that I have ever owned has ever let me down.

So I'm here to learn. I have one particular gun and I am very intrigued by. A model 28, S serial number and 100% hand engraved with gold inlay. It is stunning but I can't figure out who did the work at or where it was done.

Perhaps those in the know can put me in the right direction for more information. Thank you ahead of time to those of you that are willing to share your knowledge. It is greatly appreciated! I look forward to more postings and yes I will provide photographs because we all need something to drool on right?

Thanks again to everybody, be safe out there keep your head down eyes open and trust your instincts. If it feels wrong it probably is

I worked the line in imperial beach a short time before I was transferred to San Clemente. Ended up on the local side of enforcement a couple counties north.
Did 40:yrs. I'm amazed I'm still standing.

And about guitars… Call me a guitar owner who wishes he was a better player. I am a big fan of Gretsch only because I can't deal with the weight of a Les Paul and nothing fender really strikes my fancy…
Plus I'm a rhythm guy not a lead guy and Gretsch makes for a great rhythm guitar.

And thank you to all of those give me a shout out!
