I'm a hunter and an avid sportsman, and although I would say I'm not a "gun collector" it's getting pretty hard to deny the reality of it now. I won't buy a LNIB pistol that I don't already have in worn shooter grade, but I have been buying them as "replacement" guns for a couple of years.
I'm not a S&W guy. I inherited and collect the other brand with the ponies on them and frequent the other forum (where they say lots of nice things about S&W and about you guys).
I recently stood for 15 minutes with a gunsmith, whom I like, who did nothing but run down and malign the very expensive, and exquisitely made (IMO) revolvers and automatics in my range bag, and he made all sorts of wild claims about how much smoother, simpler, and better S&W revolvers are. They may be. I don't know, but I want to find out, which is why I'm here.
