Hi From Ireland!

Welcome from Oklahoma. I hope someday to visit the land of my ancestors. Éire go Brách!

Welcome from the Rolling Plains of Texas.

I have an earlier variant of the M-17, a K-22 and they are great Revolvers.

Welcome from North Carolina. You have a very lovely country, visited in the early 2000s. Didn't think you guys could own firearms, even .22s.

We do have firearms, but only .22lr caliber pistols since 2009. Anything else goes except full auto. And a few silly things not allowed - no pistol grip shot guns, max 3 rounds for a shotgun. Max 5 rounds in a .22 pistol (yes we have to plug our magazines and revolver chambers…) we do not need too much effort to have and use moderators (just tick the box on license application - not on pistols though).

Welcome from coastal South Carolina... visited your country twice and loved it...especially Galway and Donegal. Plan to return again soon! Don't you have to keep your handguns locked up at the club?

I'm in Co. Kerry - and no we don't need to keep them at club house. :-) (thank God). :-)

Welcome from the State of Maine!
Did a bus tour of Ireland two years ago. Beautiful scenery, wonderful people. Highly recommend.

Welcome Liam! From the commonwealth of Kentucky. Let us know how the revolver runs for you!

Regards, Rick Gibbs

I've only fired it once- trigger is very light.
it seems to have the tight chamber issue that I believe is common to a lot of the Model 17 - once its dirty.

Not sure if i want to get the reamer for it. I have no idea how clean the fire arm was prior to my shooting it (Its still with the RFD until i get my Licence so i can take it home). If i can get maybe a hundred rounds through it before i need to clean the chambers i'll be fine (for competitions).

Liking it though - Its a 17-3 and i believe that's around 1975 for my serial number (8K71426 is the serial)
I have the product leaflet and original box for it...(Target Grips, Hammer and Trigger, Pinned Barrell.
I hope to find out more on its history on this forum :-)

Run a brush through the chambers after each range session. I wouldn't ream the chambers. Close tolerances help maintain accuracy. I rarely clean the barrels on my 17s (I have two). When I do swab out the barrels I get bigger groups until they get dirty again.

Fifth generation Irish in Missouri.
