H'Lo.
I purchased my first (and only) S&W in 1984. It was a 629 6" no dash with beautiful Goncalo Alves grips. The first round fired through it, boom
, second round, "click"
. Pulled trigger again and noticed that the cylinder was not turning
. Further inspection found the hand rattling in the frame, it broke in half at the pivot hole. I replaced the hand ($6) and shot the beastie for 4 years and probably in the neighborhood of 10,000+ rounds and had no further problems. I sold it when a friend of mine showed up at the range one day with a little 3" monster and I decided I had to have one. I couldn't find one anywhere (no net back then) and moved on the 1911's.
Now, 20 years later, I'm on a quest to find, what I believe is the perfect revolver, a 629-5 3" non-ported.
