High priced Lady....

That's kind of pricey. I can't imagine the box and oilpaper being worth an extra $500 or so.

It must be that extra magazine.

I'll bet a lot of guys who passed on the one I was trying to sell at the gunshow in Dec for $500 are kicking themselves now though!

I traded a nib lady smith for a nib 639 about two years ago and gave $100 . I wonder if my 639 is worth $1375?

I do not believe that is a real bidder. I am a collector and monitor Gunbroker regularly and I have seen this a few times in the last year where a gun sells for twice what is normal. Every time the gun always sells to a "NR" bidder, as in not rated bidder. I am not sure what the motivation is and what exactly is accomplished but that clicking noise you hear is my BS meter pegging.

Maybe the gun was in a store for retail sale and it sold to a customer and the store owner had somebody run the auction up to make sure that nobody could possibly win the gun on Gunbroker? Who knows.

I had that gun on my watch list for awhile. Price got higher than I wanted to pay so I removed it and lost track of it.

I watched it as well. Crazy times is all I can say.... but I really want a dang 3913NL _____

Heard that! Been searching on three different gun sites for the past six months for my Grail gun, a 4040 PD (the 3913NL's 40-caliber twin) and nada. They just never come up. Good luck to you though on finding yours, and just hope that it won't be on GB, where prices are insane these days.

Agree but look at the back story. Conspiracy theories aside:

1. They ain't making 'em anymore.

2. Do a search anywhere on the gun and it comes up as one of the best carry guns ever made. (Heck we all sing the 3913 praises here).

3. Collectors here and in the real world want the gun a.) because we like them or b.) as an investment and usually have acquired multiples (Guility I've got 7). And let's face it we probably won't give them up somewhere between "cold dead hands" and "the kung fu grip".

So lets see if you were new to guns and looking for a good solid all around starter piece that would pass the "new washington smell" test they would be a good place to start (demand).

We don't want to sell ours and Smith et all wants us to eat plastic (supply).

Mmmm. Supply & Demand = Commerce. What a novel idea.

Nice gun. Little pricey, for now. 6 or 7 more years down the road? Maybe not so much.

Especially if no other gun companies produce anything to equal it.

What would you rather have? A tack driving accurate, bet your life reliable, durable, metal framed, hammer fired 3913 that looks good doing all that, or that overpriced plastic panty shield? ;)

And with a 3913, the white dot will stay in your front sight. :) Regards 18DAI

I'm with Blue Belly on this one... Non-rated or registered bidder, super high price... Either the guy is trying to manipulate the market, "Sure I want $800 for this LadySmith, but look here, this one just sold on GB for $1300!!" , or he sold it locally and didn't want to pull the listing so he created a fake account and ran the price up.

Or like 10xatten said, the serial number meant something special to two separate bidders and they went crazy fighting for it....

It's not worth that much to me. I can buy 2 pristine 3913's or that price, which is a much better deal I think. ;)

18, that's your second reference this week, that I've seen, to white dots falling out of the plastic gun's sights. That's your limit. You're cut off.

All kidding aside, Ladies are cool, but they're not that cool. But I also can't afford to collect. God bless the person who can afford that one.

"If" it was a bogus bid it will come back up on GB, if not, then it wont. Only time will tell.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:That is crazy...!
2X what it is worth. And at $650 it would be a correct price point. So I could see someone getting a little nuts and hitting the $700 or maybe even $750 button. I have to agree with some other posters I call BS.
I have a LNIB 3913NL...quick let me get it out and see if a BUY It Now at $1200 works:rolleyes::rolleyes:
