High profile gas block

Good afternoon, new member here and also a new owner of a M&P15OR!! A couple questions: what is meant by a "high profile gas block" I do not think this applies to me or does it, trying to find some sights and a little confused on what type. Can I mount both front and rear sights on the rail or will they be to close, if to close, then for the front sight, just get one to mount on gas block, not one for high profile gas block? Not looking to spend a ton on sights, just want to get started firing! Thanks for the replies, Ricky

Just ordered these:

Mine haven't arrived, yet (maybe today!). Mount the front on the gas block and the rear as far back as possible (at least that's the plan). On my M&P 15OR, the top of the gas block and the picatinny rail are the same height. I've heard do not use a plastic sight (like a Magpul) on the gas block as it will melt.

I am in the same boat as the OP. I just bought the M&P15OR and am contemplating with BUIS's to by. From what I've read I may need a low profile front sight since the gas block rail is even with the upper rail. Want a set that won't break the bank......
