Highway Patrolman high polish??

Says it’s high polished steel.
?? Nickel?
What do you guys think?

Appears to be nickel plated to me.

99.9% chance it was refinished with nickel plating.

I came across one at a gun show about a year ago that had been hard chromed, then bead blasted. It actually looked pretty good, but I couldn’t get the guy to budge off his price of $800…way too much for a modified HP.

We would really need to see more pictures to help out. There were some limited runs of HPs that had high polish blue and though this does look like nickel it's kind of tough to tell under certain lighting conditions. Is this perhaps an LE commemorative? Any idea of the serial number range?

More and better pictures required for sure. Looks to me that it is no question nickel.

Some of the letters/numbers look a little "smeared" which would be a telltale sign of a refinish.
