Hiking first time at 14,000 feet?

One more piece of advice for being at altitude. Have plenty of hand cream/lotion available. Seriously, this bit me a few years ago when I had cause to hit the high desert for work after not visiting for a while. My hands dried up and cracked inside a day, despite drinking extra water. 5k'+ puts you in a very dry desert by most definitions, and your skin may not do well.

Whoa! Squat 250 for five reps?! That's some good knees on that gal, bro!;):)

Yeah she's had both knees and both shoulders operated on in the past. Nothing's going to stop her from reaching her training goals, the gal has some drive and she trains like an animal but she has a soft side and is as sweet as sugar and she would go way out of her way to help someone in need.

We have airports at 7000' and 8200' in NM; once or twice a year flatlanders will try to take off with a fully loaded aircraft without enough engine in the heat of the afternoon. The lucky ones fly home commercial after the crash.

Altitude matters.

Guess they forgot that old density altitude table.

rollin', rollin' rollin' but not flyin', flyin' flyin'
