Hinged Trigger MPs vs Newer Flat Trigger Mps

The new Flat Trigger with a $40 APEX USB is near perfect.
I could shoot the hinged trigger fine, but I didn't like it.

A lot is simply personal preference. I didn't think I would like the Apex trigger and tried one out of a whim on my M&P45. The points made by Apex made sense but my reservations were with the tab thingy. The tab on glocks was just plain uncomfortable for me. Not so with the apex. Shorter travel and the overtravel much more solid than the stock hinged trigger. Ended up installing an apex trigger on all my M&Ps.

I have the older hinged trigger MP Compact 2.0 4" gun and really like it. But have never been too crazy about the hinged trigger. I've thought about changing it out with the Apex flat trigger kit.
But with SW turning out production guns with the flat trigger was thinking why not just buy new and sell the old model.
Anyone want to give their thoughts on their change to the newer models with the flat trigger?

We like the original 1.0 with Apex Trigger over the current 2.0 as the grip feels too rough.

Try a flat trigger. It is a $50 experiment to see if you like it in a gun you already know you like overall. I think that is a better plan than buying a new gun and trading in the old one to get the same info.

Where are you finding a Flat Trigger for the 2.0 for $50?
Apex's polymer kit is around $100 and S&W won't sell the new stock flat trigger as a part.
The few I've found on Ebay awhile back were priced at the same price as an Apex Flat kit.

Where can I purchase the stock M&P newer flat trigger to replace the hinge trigger? I have two 9mm Shields and 2.0 4” and 5” all with hinge trigger.

Freestone Armory sometimes has them on eBay, but they're not cheap.

Unless things have changed, S&W only offers the M&P flat triggers as discrete parts through LE distributors.

Go Apex and don’t look back.
Or you might put a WTB ad out.. several people, like myself, may have 2.0 flat triggers in a bin somewhere after installing an Apex (zero desire to sell mine).

I like apex triggers but for me its the Apex Curved trigger not the flat version. and have several FST kits installed at home But my last m&p is a performance center ported 5" 40sw with the old hinged trigger and so far several years later I still stock mid 4lb pull and sharp compared to standard model trigger groups and its fine too .
