Greetings All, for those of you who don't know me, I am the son of Dwayne W. Charron (1925-2019), the former head of R&D at S&W. Today, I finally made it to the media box for sorting.
In the box was a cassette tape labeled, "Dwayne Charron Interview." The back story on this interview is that nobody ever heard it. While my father was a docent at the S&W museum, they talked him into doing an interview; after the interview they asked him to sign a release, he refused and basically confiscated the tape and took i t home.
I now have the tape and I am not going to attempt to play it as cassettes tend to get eaten! Instead, I am going to send it out this week to a professional transfer service.
Another find was a CD with old (50's and 60's) transferred movies. One of the clips is a home movie of the addition at S&W being built in the early 60's; my father also took inside movies of the area that would become R&D.
I'm excited to hear my Dad's interview; I will posting it to my Rumble.com account and I will publish a link here when it's available -- I am guessing it's going to be a month or so.
I will make these available at no charge; as my father's business manager, I retain copyrights to the material and if you want to use any of it, please let me know for what, I will allow its use free of charge and source credits. The material may also be reproduced but may not be sold.
If you'd like to be notified when they are available, send me a message and I will do so.
