I inherited my grandfather's S&W 32 S&W caliber. It's in pretty rough shape and I hope to restore it. Can anyone tell me how to find out when this gun was manufactured? I don't see any way to do that on the S&W home page. It's a five shot revolver, Ser.# 1090XX. Thanks in advance.

Follow the LINK, print out your request and submit with $30. Not too difficult, the hardest part is waiting for Roy to get to your request in the huge pile of requests. I think the current wait time is running 12-14 weeks.

With a little more information, one of us could 'ballpark' the date of manufacture within a year or two. A picture would be a big help.
Being a 5-shot .32, it's obviously a topbreak.
The single action .32s didn't go that high in serial numbers. Is it a double action with a hammer? Or is it a safety hammerless aka 'lemmon sqeezer'? Blue or nickel finish? Black hard rubber grips, I assume?

In either of those two model lines, the range of 109,000 would put it within about 10 years either side of 1900.

Hope this helps,
Chris
