Stainless, and reliable. And take a bottle of CLP. Most of the water blowing in will be salty.

For situations like that I keep special holsters made by Ziploc.
From the looks of that storm I don't think it's going to make any difference what you take.

I' in serious trouble! I have sold all my stainless S&W's. I have two stainless derringers, two LDA stainless 1911's, a stainless Rossi 92 and two stainless Vaqueros. How will I ever survive storms?

....but this one was about 3-4 miles away as the crow flies. We had some houses flattened once about half a mile from us. And Hurricane Hugo put a huge tree on top of our house. Son of a gun belly flopped from the bedroom end of our house to the kitchen. I had PTSD for about a year after that one.
We were lucky this time, a little wind and not too much rain. Just the way I like it.

Wind and rain all day yestidy.........Got a little over 4 inches. Sadly I had to attend a funeral yestidy morning in it........Carried a plastic Shield .45 as a revolver would have been bulky under my suit.

We were talking stainless. I have a M&P9c & LCP to cover plastic handguns. By the way: You would NEVER see Captain America with a plastic Shield!

You'll be taking the sideplate off, blued or stainless.
Take one of those flat-type guns with the rounds in the grip. Easier to dry out.

I once jumped in a shirt pocket deep creek chasing a buck with my 3 in 624 on my hip......It went swimmin......Later at home I removed the grips and blew it out with an air hose and hairdryer(got it nice and warm). Re-lubed it and went about my merry way. That was over 20 years ago.....It still works fine.
