Hi all.....lurking newbie here.
I'm trying to find the holster I want for my 500-4". Galco has the style I want (Phoenix Dual Position) but they don't make it for the 500. It has a thumb break, and dual slots for straight drop or cossdraw. Does anyone know where I might find such a holster? Or who would be willing to make a "one-of-a-kind" custom holster?
A lot of holster makers claim to be "custom", but don't actually make "one-of-a-kind" holsters.
Thanx in advance........

Welcome to the forum!

I have always been more partial to carrying big bore revolvers in a chest rig, but I'm sure that if you have a good belt, the 4 incher would do fine on your hip.

If you haven't already a quick google search might turn up some dandies. I do know that they mention Ken Null holsters in the Gun Blast review of the 5" John Ross 500. Here's a link to that...

The John  Ross S&W Performance Center 5" .500 Magnum

Just as a frame of reference, this is the setup that I use...

Guides Choice Holster

It's the Guide's Choice holster, made by Dave Johnston (Diamond D Leather). Unbelievably comfortable w/ or w/o a pack, I can wear it all day.

Best wishes on your search...I hope you find what you're looking for.

Thank you both very much. I talked to Ken Null and I think he can do exactly what I'm looking for.

Man, I LOVE forums !!

I own the Ken Null holster for my JR 500. It's a very nice, well constructed piece. My only issue is the retention straps' snap length won't close with the stock Hogue grips. It is sized to close on a grip with an exposed backstrap. You might want to mention that to him if it's important to you.

Yes Bendutro, that would be very important to me !! Thanx for your input.....

Again...... Man I just LOVE forums !!! (I've forgotten already, but what did we used to do w/o them ??)

Thanx jack ...... They look nice, but I really want the option of dual position .....(straight drop / cross-draw). Depending on if I'm hunting / 4-wheeling / motorcycling / back-packing / hiking / fishing / floating, etc.......one OR the other works well for me, but neither works well ALL the time...... at least not for me........
