The 642 is a pretty easy revolver to carry and conceals easily. Holster selection is largely a matter of personal preference, but your physique, usual wardrobe, and normal activities should also be considered.

Not to take away from a forum member and holster maker, but I have 2 of the Blackhawk Speed Classics (LH & RH) and could not be happier. They feel a little light and thin when you first get them, but a year plus later they are holding up very well.

You can't go wrong with Lobo...his custom holsters are in line price wise with off the shelf stuff...and they are not only superior build wise, but you can discuss your needs with the person who's making the holster....kind of a no brainer....
Here's the enhanced pancake for my SP101...you can get this style with standard loops also...

158 is the Galco gun designation number for the J frame (right hand). The letters before 158 will tell you what kind of holster it is.
Sounds like you are talking about the Scout holster (SCT158B). The "B" designates black. A very nice holster but a bit bulky and is an IWB holster.
The Galco Stinger (SG158B) is a very comfortable belt holster but does hang lower than a typical pancake style (Galco Speedmaster, they call it the Combatmaster now for some reason, CM158B).
If you have the time to wait, go for a custom, made to order holster.

I didn't have one for a 642, but I did have a Tagua IWB for a Glock 26 and didn't like it. It was way thicker than other holsters and just felt "cheap". It's like they used cheap leather and did it double thick all the way around so it would hold up.

Here's a picture of my LoboGunleather Pancake cross or strong draw w\ the 642 hanging on a belt from The BeltMan (dual layer Bullhide 1-1/4" w\ stiffener) & Crimson trace 405's...The Holster could lose a 1/2" as it will take up to 2.5" J frame. Ray is a great guy to deal with.

Of the three listed by the OP, I would go with Don Hume, whose holsters have always impressed me--well designed and well made, a good value for the money.
I am not familar with Tagua. I know Gould and Goodrich by its reputation, but have no personal experience with their products.
I have had favorable experiences with J frame holsters from Galco and Kramer.
Any of the above offer quality products. Select the one whose design fits your needs the best.
