Holster for shield ???

I have an original alien gear iwb and I will say I love it I'm small framed at only 5ft6 and 150# and I can completely conceal a fs m@p40 and have no problem wearing for 10 hours but I was truly disgusted with my 11week wait and poor communication from there customer service but I'm glad I didn't cancel once I received it and tried it on

Watchdog,
I have not contacted them but they send me a "we haven't forgotten you...........thanks for your patience...." e-mail about every two weeks.
They also "ensure" me that they appreciate my bsiness. All that for what it's worth.

Mark

Nothing says "we care" like an automated email.

I have a Alien Gear Holster but I had the backing and just order the shell for my Shield. I have both style the first one and the 2.0 I love them both. I also pick up a Blade-Tech softy holster and a Stay Holster Kydex which I can just grab and go.

I use the Bianchi Allusion™ Model 135 Suppression™.

  • Very comfortable holster
  • Easy to get a full grip on the draw stroke
  • Re-holster one handed
  • Belt c-clips are very inconspicuous (unlike some that are huge and have emblems on them)
  • Mesh covered foam backing is very comfortable even in hot weather.
  • Tuck-able
  • Reasonably priced, around $50

I don't know when you bought yours but, they're $78.00 now.

I had a R. Grizzle City Slicker 2 for my Ruger SP101, and really liked that style. Ordered a Tucker Texas Heritage last night for my Shield, as it was hard to beat the sale price of $85, for an all leather tuckable holster.

I ordered my holsters from Foxx on Friday the 24th and received my tracking number for both products today. I expect to have them delivered by Thursday.

Great product, great price point, unbelievable customer service, and turnaround time. It's worth a look for sure.

I currently have a simple iwb JBP ambitexeriois belt slide holster for my Sheild. I am looking to upgrade and get a better holster.

I have a friend that has an Alien Gear cloak tuck 2.0 and raves about it.

Has anyone tried one of these?

I use the Blade-Tech Nano IWB for both my Shield 9mm, and my "Pro-Series" SW1911 Sub Compact .45acp. Sometimes, I can still feel the SW1911, but most of the time, I don't even feel the Shield back there (4 O'clock).

I just ordered a Cloak Tuck 2.0 for the Shield 9. It was clear during the checkout process that the wait time was 6-7 weeks. From reviews I have read I was willing to wait it out or I would have passed and went for something else. Hope it lives up to the reviews.

Take a look at Frontline holsters at the 762 precision web site. They are all leather and wear great. Very well made.

I have on your 6 design IWB, it fit the shield well, it does have a slight adjustable cant price was right and it took less than 10 days from order to delivery. i tried a holster like allien gear could not get used to all the leather it's spans such a large area, the on your 6 holster is small and form fitted basically to weapon in comparision. very easy to get on and off if you would need to.

I have been using a Stealth Gear IWB holster. Very comfortable and fully adjustable. Bought it through Gun Digest and with a discount code it was around $80. Got it fairly quickly, less than 2 weeks.

I picked up a BlackHawk Serpa for the time being. Yeah I know some people hate em some luv em. However, for hunting it's nice to have a lock on your weapon. I tried a few different iwb's yesterday and again today.
Yup looking for the perfect iwb. I figure if I can test a few and try on a few I can narrow it down.

I appreciate all the help.

I have the Alien Gear cloack tuck 2.0 and I like it a lot better than any leather hybrids. I don't like the stiffness or thickness of them. While the inner plastic sheet provides rigidity, the back pad on the 2.0 which actually contacts your body is a fabric material that's very breathable and comfortable and reduces sweating or chafing on your skin.

All the problems seem to stem from two things with SERPA's. People pressing the release like it's a button with a hooked finger rather than using the flat finger to depress the release.

The other being a large grain of dirt getting into the release and locking the gun in the holster.

I had a shield and I have 3 holsters that I spent just shy of 200 dollars for. 1 is a PJ IWB (all my pistols ride in one of these ie m&p 40c, S&w 637 revolver and kimber ultra carry) 2 is a Desantis speed scabard and the 3rd is a Desantis pancake with thumb strap, all new and top of the line. There all yours for 100 bucks. Once I figure out how to put a pic of all 3 I will. Love Smith&Wesson but I cant lie, I was to concerned that the 40 Shield I had could possibly go KABOOM so I sold it. I loved that little bugger but it was in my head thinking about the issues. I probably should have kept it but oh well. Leave me a message if you are interested and I will work on getting the pics on here. Thanks

Zoey, please post pics. I can confirm that a PJ IWB holster is top-shelf. It's what my Shield rides in. Would you sell the holsters separately? I may be interested in one or both of the Desantis holsters. PM me if you like. Thanks.

Honestly I am trying to get the pics on the forum. I took pics of all the holsters and a 7round 40 cal mag for the shield. I will get them on here I just havent figured it out yet.

sorry,i have pics but dont know how to put them on the forum. i will ask someone and get them on here soon. thanks

My 40 Shield rides in a BlackHawk #4 pocket holster, or a Desantis hip holster, or a Desantis ankle holster, it just depends on what I am wearing.

Try Kusiak leather out of Miami. I have one for my PM9 and don't even realize that I am wearing it. They are about 45$ shipped.

I tried the Alien Gear Cloak 2.0 and didn't like it at all. The kydex was so large and thick that it just never felt comfortable at all.

I have a Galco KingTuk and that fits so much better under my belt that I sometimes forget I have it on.

2nd that....have two already, and another double stitched in two color being made. Gavin's holsters are the best bang for your buck out there. AND they have a sweat shield and fleece backing for comfort!

My only objection to this holster is that the metal clips mark up your belt. After a while it looks like hell. If you don't mind that its a good holster.

I now use holsters with leather or plastic loops.

I agree. I don't have this maker's holster, but have replaced all metal and/or homemade kydex over the belt clips on my hybrid holsters with those made from nylon 66. These are much stronger than kydex clips as far as them breaking due to flexing goes and they don't mar up my leather belts like those metal clips did.

I bought a DeSantis Intruder hybrid holster. It's looks like the Crossbreed style holster and is excellent for the money. Midway had them in stock when I bought my Shield 9mm. I also bought a Werkz Kydex OWB holster that is really nice. It fits tight against the body and is great when I'm driving long distances.

My N82 is the most comfortable single retention metal clip tuckable I have but the draw stroke does take some getting used to. It's not just a straight pull up but a twist to the body with the butt to get it to release. It certainly is not going to get out unless you want it to.
