Can anyone ID a S&W holster? It is stamped 19 04 (on the back below the S&W logo), which in any logical universe would mean it fits a 4" Model 19, but it definitely doesn't.
I can't find that number combination on the chart(s), so I am asking for help.
It has a very short safety-loop/snap. I have tried a number of pistols in it, but so far nothing comes close to fitting.
Thanks,
Joel

The 19 designates the holster style, the 04 is the size. From my 1970 S&W catalog, the 04 size is for a 4 3/4" Colt's Frontier Scout, 4 1/2" High Standard Longhorn and similar sized revolvers.

Thanks for the holster ID. That explains why nothing I have tried so far even comes close to fitting.
Now that I know the basic type it's made for, perhaps I can find something close to that to make it usable.
It's in like-new condition, but I only paid $10 for it, so it's no great loss if I can't.

Hello, I also have 2 S&W holsters. A 19 07 and 19 84. I see in this
forum 19 is the holster model. I need to know what the 07 and 84
stand for. If I could be shown the way to know the numbers it would be help. Do I understand the second number is for length as 7 for 7"
to 7 1/2" or 8" and 4 for 4" to 5". If so would like to know what the first numbers are. The 0 and the 8. any help would be appreciated, Vic

acf6, Welcome to the Forum. The 07 is for a Colt Single Action Army 7 1/2 inch, and the 84 is for a High Standard Supermatic. 6 1/2 inch, or similar HS pistols. The 19 is S&Ws style number for their "Standard Border" holster. Ed.
