It's a typical holster of the period sold by the larger sporting goods supply houses & stores like Sears, Montgomery Wards, Western Auto and many hardware stores. They were never maker marked as they were basically machine made rather than handmade. The 38 and the 6 meant the holster was for a .38 caliber revolver with a 6 inch barrel, a "one size fits all" deal for S&Ws, Colts, H&Rs, etc. They usually are not lined and the tannic acid in the leather can remove bluing but does not seem to bother nickel plating.
