Holster recommendations

I've been carrying my 9c in a kydex holster from Pitbull Tactical now for about 4 months now. The holster super thin and light and extremely comfortable. I usually tuck a polo or button down in between the holster and waistband and the gun completely disappears.

Pair it with a good belt from Jones Tactical or Comp-Tac and you can't go wrong.

Hey guys Im new to the concealed carry and was wandering what would be a good holster for a BIG man. Looking at IWB, and something that I can keep my shirt tucked in and not leave much of a footprint. I have the m&p40 but am looking at getting the compact as well. All info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm a big man too and carry the M&P 40 & 40c and I use the Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC Holster holster. With a quality belt it rides well and you can tuck your shirt in. I wear my shirt tucked in at work and it really hides the gun. I also use the optional black C-clips; with my black belt the clips virtually disappear.

Thanks Ray I will definately keep this holster in mind when I am able to purchase one. You must have a laid back kinda job to be able to carry while at work. As a construction worker I could never carry at work but it stays in the truck.

It was an agonizing decision for me, and honestly I just accepted the fact that I will probably end up buying another holster eventually as I learn what I like and need based on usage. I ended up going with a UBG Striker.

I was torn between it and the Crossbreed Supertuck, with my preference for the Supertuck being solely based on the recommendations of so many on this board. In doing some reading on it though I found that several people mentioned that since the Kydex didn't completely cover the gun barrel on some or most models there was some noticeable wear on the material of the clothing due to rubbing. I won't be carrying all the time and the majority of my carrying will be while on motorcycle trips where I wear some fairly expensive touring pants that I really don't want to be rubbing any holes in or weaken the material in any way in case I ever need as much of it as I can get. Since the Striker is leather and does completely cover the barrel I figured "what the hell" and decided to give it shot. No pun intended. Plus, my son has a UBG Canute and the quality of his holster and his appreciation for it didn't hurt either. In the end I very well may end up with the Crossbreed, but we'll see what happens.

I'll post an initial report once I get it, which should be week after next according to the folks at UBG.

I can see the rubbing a hole in your clothes being a big issue when your riding a bike. I will definitely check into these holsters as well.

I was notified that it shipped today. Should have it by the end of the week. I'll post an impression when I get it.

The holster arrived yesterday in a USPS Express Mail package, much sooner than I expected. Props for that!

It's absolutely a work of art. Craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout, I have yet to find a flaw in it. Truly a first class piece of work.

The pistol slides in with a little effort, and requires a bit of a tug to get it out. It's not difficult and I can't see that it would hinder an emergency draw, but neither would the gun fall out when I held it in the holster upside down and shook it. My son's Canute was the same way when new, but has since loosened up a bit allowing easier entries and pulls while still holding the pistol securely when holstered. I expect my Striker will be the same way.

I haven't carried with it yet except to see how it fit with jeans and in my motorcycle touring pants and was pleased to find that in both cases the fit and feel are great and I have no issues that concern me at all.

We'll be going riding this week-end and I'll report back with how that goes.
