Holster ???

I bought this holster maybe 40 years ago at a war surplus store in Colorado
Springs,no #`s and no letters on it,do you think it`s military or civilian?
A 2 or 3in.S&W or a Colt fits.

I have one that is a clone of yours. Mine is marked "Idaho leather, Boise, Idaho.

I'd say most likely civilian. Several makers made shoulder rigs very similar to that, probably beginning in the 1920s. Most usually fit a variety of similar sized guns.
