I have two ******* big game shoulder holsters from about 1985 or so, my question is when did they change their name to Galco? Thanks Jeff

A long time ago! I have a ******* Miami Vice Classic 1911 holster that I bought in the mid 80's. I think that they went by the ******* by Galco name for a little while and then dropped the ******* entirely in the early - mid 90's. I have five Galco shoulder rigs and three or four of their belt holsters, great stuff!

Galco International was founded by Richard N. Gallagher in 1969 as a small family business in Chicago, Illinois. Known then as "The Famous ******* Leather Company," Gallagher specialized in holsters constructed of horsehide.
In 1980 the name of the company was changed to Galco International. In 1983 the company moved from Chicago to its present home in Phoenix, Arizona, where all Galco products are still constructed. Already famous for high quality and innovative designs, Galco gained worldwide notoriety when the ******* shoulder system became a “recurring character” on the popular 1980s TV series Miami Vice. I still have a Galco holster and gunbelt that I purchased in 1993. The CB4 contour belt has been worn almost daily and its still rigid and looks almost new! Great products come out of Galco!!
