Does anyone have any have any experience with the leather holsters for a j-frame from e-bay. most of these are from American Pride or the The Holster Store. These run from $30 up.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money until I knew if IWB was for me. I have ordered a Don Hume SOOT online for $40 including shipping. Did I do the right thing? Anyone use one of these and would like to comment?

Thanks,

I don't know about the ebay rigs but Don Hume makes decent stuff...a bit thick for my tastes but sturdy and serviceable at a decent price. My Del Fatti is horsehide which is sturdy but very thin...

There's a couple of guys that sell holsters that they make themselves on Ebay as their primary distribution means. Some are quite well made.

The Ebay seller that I'm most familiar with, and can suggest as a good source, is "USA Mike" or something like that. He sold a bunch of Safety Speed old stock recently and has close outs and old stock regularly. I've gotten a number of holsters from him without a problem.

Don Hume Leather Products, Miami, Oklahoma, is an excellent company producing high quality products at pretty reasonable prices.

Don Hume has been around for many, many years and has provided leather equipment to many thousands of law enforcement officers and sportsmen. Their regular production models are difficult to beat.
