This has been a good year of collecting for me. After years of searching, I managed to acquire four of my Holy Grail's in quick succession. I don't know how hard they are to find in the U.S., but up here in Canada we have a lot less to choose from.

They are from top to bottom:
- 1066 10mm
- 625-3 Model of 1989 45ACP
- 952-2 9mm
- 63 snub .22
The top three were all BNIB!

He has a 12.6 catagory firearms licence.
He had a short barrelled firearm before the change in regulations in 1998 and was grandfathered into the 12.6 status when the new firearms licences came out. If you didn't have a handgun with a barrel 4" or less you didn't qualify to be grandfathered into the 12.6 licence status. I have my 12.6 as well.

Its actually 4.1" to be exact with our laws here in Canada. Even that .1 counts as to which category it falls into. Mostly referred to as a Prohib for us. if its under that length. Over that length it a restricted license.

Some Dummy who knows nothing about guns sets the laws in our Country. Or its the cheap drugs our politicians are on. Personally I have never seen a gun with a 4.1" barrel. Has anyone? Longer or shorter yes of course but not 4.1".

The 625 is actually prohibited class as well at 4". The coalition to ban handguns had the ear of the Liberals back in 1998 and they all figured prohibiting barrel lengths at less than 4.2" would eliminate all the police revolvers flooding the market at the time. The shame is all my snubbies will end up in a smelter one day as we grandfathered "prohib" status collectors die out. Due to the American gun control act of 1968, I can't even take my snub collection with me if I retire to Florida as nothin with a barrel less than 3" can cross into the U.S. Is there a possibility Trump will repeal that law?

Might explain why some newer S&W's have barrels with odd lengths just over 4". For example, the current Models 66 and 69 have 4.25" barrels. The 686 Plus and 329PD are available with 4.125" barrels. I wonder if a trend is starting to help with sales going to Canada?

I just read the article and its NO where near the truth regarding Canada at all. Somebody did not do a proper learning experience regarding our laws as I have been shooting handguns since the early 70's. They do not just hand out permits up here in one afternoon at all and never have. You must take both a long gun course as well as a handgun course. Total time of around 4 days for both and pass both written and verbal tests as well as range safety courses at my club before you even get to fire one. WE do supply the handguns at the beginning until you are allowed to buy one. Even then you must belong to a Gunclub to own a handgun as well. It actually has cut down on the crime here altho its still not perfect it is a lot better then it was many years ago now. Our problem is the bleeding heart judges who don't give them long enough sentences for useing a gun while committing a crime. WE only have the death penalty for killing a cop or politicians up here. Should be applied to all citizens.

If someone breaks into my home I am allowed to defend myself and family with whatever is handy. If my 45APC is the handiest thing then that is what I will use to do the job. Especially if the intruder is armed he will be in for quite a shock as he picks up his brains and tries to leave. This has been tested in court here and the homeowner won his case on a no. of occasions.

So, the same dummy who writes Canada's gun laws has equally idiotic relatives who write the gun laws for every other country.

Don't get me started on politicians. Bottom feeders, the lot of them.

To the OP, nice little collection. The 952 and 625 really caught my eye. My 52 is on the "never sell" list.
Of course, that 1066 is no slouch, either. I have a 4566 and would not part with it.
