I was already tired of sore fingers. I'm a bit cheap and wanted to save my budget for more cool gun stuff, so I decided to get a little creative. Yea I know you can get a variety of loaders, but even the cheapest one are near $20. Looked around in the shop, found some old plastic pieces (from old cutting boards I had planed down to 3/8 inch), studied one of my mags and came up with this.

Step 1. Slide straight down over the top

Step 2. Push down until it begins to push the button down

Step 3. Pivot around to horizontal

Step 4. Depress to begin loading rounds


It's a little rough around the edges and maybe not as fancy as "store bought", but in 15-20 minutes in the shop, I just saved $20!
Works perfectly! Made one for my SR22 as well, so that's $40!
Yea haw, what do I need next! Hmmmm

I've posted this before, but if you take out the follower button, you can use a golf tee to pull down the follower.

It achieves the same thing as what you did; I find gripping the golf tee to be very comfortable.

If you had a 3D printer, you could make some money with that design. I had posted this on the Magula thread, I bought this loader on eBay about six months ago for $9, he's now getting $11.50 with postage. He offers several colors and as you probably know, it's very easy on the fingers and almost no effort to hold the springs down.

You're right, extremely easy on the fingers. I've got enough material in the shop, I could probably knock out another 20-30 of them at least and getting more would not be an issue. I recently bought one on line for a SR22 pistol. I ordered the wrong one and it didn't fit right. I couldn't believe the money I spent vs. a little piece of plastic I got. So, out to the shop I went. Took no time at all to make and my finger tips feel a whole lot better.

Or you could buy a lightning loader. Not worry about stacking right and load a 25 round mag in 7 secs.
Plus load other mag with the same loader.
