Home Sick

Like your mom told ya: Plenty of rest and plenty of fluids. Hang in there, Kanewpadle. Just a matter of time until ya get better.

Got the flu. Man this stinks. 102.5 fever. Haven’t had the flu in years. Hope it goes away fast. :o

Yeah! I know the flu. It's nasty. It lasts two and a half days, at least with me(only time it lasted 5 days was the first, and last, year I took a flu shot). It can't be cured, it has to run it's course, but there are meds that you can take that will make it easier to endure. They only alleviate the syntoms. But that's good enough for me.

The only time a flu shot works is when you dont get one.

I walked through a doctors office a couple of weeks ago. A little kid, three, maybe four years old walking across the room, reached up for a "high five" handshake. I brushed his hand and went on. When I came back his father told me I might want to make sure I washed my hands especially well, his boy was sick. I laughed and said "God gave me an immune system. It works pretty well."

Now my wife and I refer to any ache, pain, sneeze, or sniffle, as "The high five flu." Very dangerous. At least I say it is. My wife tells me I'm nuts.

Hope you feel better. Watch for the school bus. When I was a kid, and had to stay home sick, I always felt better as soon as the bus left.

I had the flu for over a week leading up to the bar exam, I was very feverish did not know what day it was for a while. On the days of the test, I was still pretty rough and I brought (and drank from) a bottle of Pepto Bismol to the bar exam which when they were not keeping their distance drew much attention from the proctors looking for some answers on the label or even hidden in the bottle. No last minute cramming, but I passed with some to spare. Evidently, law school does prepare you for the bar exam.

No. You need to go today—now. Don’t mean to be harsh with forum brother I consider a personal friend, but you need to go to the doctor now. Go to a 24 hour clinic if need be. You need tp be on Tamiflu within 24 hours of becoming symptomatic. I believe you are 2-3 hours behind us in CST zone 3:18 now, so you have plenty of time to get in.

My best friend is a virologist. She said getting a flu shot
is a smart thing to do.
So many people at work have been sick with like 1/2
the flu instead of full blown flu.
The one's without the vaccine suffered far longer than just a couple of days,
and had lingering issues, like bronchitis, afterwards.
Wish I could teleport you some soup, Kanewpadle.
Chicken...Or beef barley. I make good soups.
Hope you feel better soon!
Goddess bless.

I've been grounded by my doc all winter. A very nice, no-nonsense, no-Bravo-Sierra Russian lady, she told me that flu for me would be a death sentence.

I listened.

But KP, I have bronchitis at least once a year, and it's a beast too. If, God forbid, this happens again, get your derriere to the doctor immediately. You'll save yourself a lot of misery.

I hope you feel better soon.
