I am recently into the "S&W-metal-semi-auto" club, and I had a question about home smithing. Is it possible to disassemble the frame assembly and smooth the trigger on these models? Or is that a job best left to professionals?

It is relatively easy on some guns, (such as my CZ 75B) to disassemble the frame, and polish the sear and hammer interface to get rid of the trigger grittiness. I was just wondering if anyone has tried the same thing with their 3rd generation Smith semi-autos.

P.S. I'm sorry if this has already been discussed. I did a search of this forum, and didn't find what I was looking for.
