I got sick of paying $60 to $100 for a holster.

Very nice work, sir. That is exactly how I got started making holsters 37 years ago, as a puppy policeman on a limited budget I started making what I wanted. Then my friends and co-workers wanted holsters.

Now I'm retired and have a pretty good little business, making a couple of dozen holsters each week. I have a few stores stocking my products and I have shipped items to all 50 states, most Canadian provinces, and several other countries.

Best of luck to you.

If those are your first attempts then I'd say you're very talented. They look fine as they are but I'd be interested to see your work progress over the next year or two if you keep at it.

Nate at UGB holsters ("Ugly Bald Guy") started much the same way: Good out of the gate and an unbelievable rate of improvement over a relatively short period of time.

Congratulations, keep at it and you'll have a nice side income in no time (if you choose to go that route).

Thanks. My problem now is I only have a few handguns. I have started offering to make holsters for my friends. I'll post some more pictures when I can.

nice work..
seeing them makes me wanna start making my own.of course i wouldn't know where to start though..(who knows, maybe do it part time)

dang those are some great looking holsters I have been looking all over for a shoulder rig for my model 15-2 and noone seems to make one, if you think you can work me in send me an email

Crazy, I would love to make you a shoulder rig. I dont have a 15-2, so I would have to locate one to mould it properly. I'll get back with you.

Walkin, I am doing everything by hand, stitching and moulding. I can't afford a machine.

School is out for the year and I was looking to make some holsters over the summer break to keep me busy. It seemed like a good hobby for a college student budget until I priced vegetable tanned leather at Tandy Leather. What is a good source for smaller pieces of leather? I don't think I'll use 14 square feet of leather this summer.

-Thanks

A Single shoulder should get you 4 to 6 holsters with 6 oz. Try it.

Quick question..how do you get it(leather) to mold and stay that way?
also,do you guys use dummy models of the gun your making the holster for or the actual gun ?

Thanks in advance.Matt
