Wow does Hoppe's Elite clean great ($4+ for 2 oz. while Hoppe's 9 is under $2 for 5 oz.)!

Bottle claims, "with continued use ... conditions your bore cutting future maitence time up to 80%." Is that true in your experience?

Is this stuff SAFE long term on my revolver?

Thanks!!

I have no idea. I only know that I've been cleaning some of my guns for over 40 years with # 9 and they still shoot just fine. And my father was using it before me. I buy it by the quart and see no reason to pay double the price.

Hoppe's Elite and MPro7 are the same stuff. I've been using the MPro7 for five or six years and it does reduce cleaning time by getting ahead of deposits in the bore. I have no idea about the percentage. You do have to lubricate the metal after cleaning. I use the MPro7 Gun Oil, Breakfree CLP, Hoppe's Gun Oil, and in many cases a dry Teflon aerosol in the hottest places.

MPro7 Cleaner is water based, no harm to firearm, grips, etc.

(Hoppe's No. 9 is not your father's Hoppe's No. 9. They changed the formula somewhere along the line.)
