I am sure that I am going to get some flack on this one but I do not feel like loading a bunch of ammo.

I just got some Hornady 44 Mag 200 GR XTPs to load to keep in the closet just in case needed. I am not planning on carrying these rounds. I looked at the Hornady manual and below is loads that I have powder for and want to keep it around 1,400 - 1,500 F/Sec.

IMR 4227 25.8 1,400 f/sec 27.1 1,500 f/sec
2400 23.4 1,400 f/sec 24.7 1,500 f/sec
Blue Dot 15.1 1,400 f/sec 16.4 1,500 f/sec
800X 12.7 1,400 f/sec 15.7 1,500 f/sec

And from the Lyman manual (does not come close to the 1,400 - 1,500 F/Sec except 296)

296 27.0 1,432 31,700 Pressure
296 28.3 1,493 37,000
Blue Dot 15.7 942 19,600
Blue Dot 18.7 1,245 35,100
800X 12.0 861 20,200
800X 14.9 1,239 36,100
IMR 4227 22.8 1,000 22,800
IMR 4227 26.4 1,261 36,600

I know that I should use the Hornady information but it does not have load data for 296 and there is a bunch of difference in some of the numbers between the 2 manuals. (I know this has been discuss before)

You can use the H110 data for W296 as they are the same.

FWIW I use 26 gr 296/110 under a Sierra 210.
I would start there and go to 27 gr.

I am also moving away from ball powder and now prefer 2400 or 4227.
Have not loaded them yet with the 200s yet though.
My efforts this year have mostly revolved around heavy bullets in the 445 and 444.
