Model 13-1 Age Identification

I'm trying to identify when this K frame 13-1 was manufactured or if there is anything else special to know about it.

It is a Model 13-1 .357 Magnum. 4" barrel, square butt. Serial number starts with 3D14.

1978 is correct. But actually, the 4th Edition contains a typo on page 490, with no mention at all of the 3D numbers. This has been corrected in the 5th Edition. All 3D numbers were assigned in 1978.
