Here's a load I'm contemplating in 9mm:

Hornady XTP 124 gr. Seated @ 1.060" OAL

Federal match primer

5.3 gr. WSF Powder

I want to duplicate factory non +p loading.

Has anyone loaded anything close?

YEP I LOAD 5.4 WSF. BUT,,,,,,,,,,, MY OAL IS 1.14" JIM P

Thanks Jim. I suspected that my OAL of 1.060 was too short. I came across another site that listed your load as a +p load, so 1.060 would indeed make mine way over pressured.

I just don't like the way the finished bullet looks at an OAL of 1.10 or greater. It looks like the bullet is going to fall out of the case.

I am currently loading the XTP bullet with 5.0 gr. Unique OAL 1.060 which I read in one source clocks out @1050 fps and yet another source has it @1200 fps. I don't own a chrono. This load is very soft shooting and very accurate...........I may just stick with this combo.

I just like the way WSF meters, and it is one of the most accurate powders I've ever used.

I've used a similar load in my XDm but I'm still working my way up. Here it is (16 lb. recoil spring).

Bullet: Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP
Powder: Winchester WSF 4.7 grs.
Primer: Federal 100
Case: Federal
LOAL: 1.075 (.812 with Stoney Point)
Comments: Snappy, but very accurate!

That was with the factory barrel, now it's got a new Bar-Sto and I'm starting over. Hopefully I can do some chronograph work this weekend.

And here are the chronograph results from today.

Bullet: Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP
Powder: Winchester WSF 5.0 grs.
Primer: Federal 100
Case: Federal
LOAL: 1.075 (.812 with Stoney Point)
Average Velocity: 1099.55 fps
Extreme Spread: 23.04
Standard Deviation: 9.64
Comments: Mild, no malfunctions.

I didn't think these loads would work (with a compensator) but they did.

Thanks for the follow up.

MY 5.4 GR LOAD WAS STRICTLY ACCURACY BASED. IT SHOT THE BEST GROUPS AT 50 YDS FROM THE RANSOM REST. FROM MY ROCK RIVER ARMS 9MM'S THE GROUP WAS JUST OVER 1.25" AT 50YDS. JIM P
