Fox News just reported on a an incident in Suwannee(Gwinett County) were a man reportedly took four firefighters hostage at gunpoint when they responded to his house for a request for service. A police spokesman just reported that SWAT officers employed a robot and then made entry in the suspect's home with a flash bang and a firefight ensued in which the suspect was killed and one officer was shot in the arm/hand. The firefighters reportedly suffered minor wounds believed to have been caused by the flash bang explosion. None of the injuries were believed to be life threatening.
The suspect was reported to have been upset because due to financial calamities the utilities at his home had been disconnected and after taking the hostages he was demanding that they be re-connected.
At this point it appears the authorities executed a very efficient operation to bring the incident to a positive conclusion. This was also the quickest briefing by the police I have ever experienced following an incident of this type. Great job Guys.
