HOT CEREAL FOR BREAKFAST

Steel cut oats, chopped walnuts, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and a dash of numeg. Blue berries on side to eat after the oatmeal is gone.

I am a type 2 diabetic and try very hard to live a vegan lifestyle as it has helped me bring my blood sugars under control.

Bob's Red Mill Quick Cooking
Whole Grain Rolled Oats.

Bob's Red Mill regular every morning with a half cup of defrosted frozen Blueberries...just boil the water, put in the cereal and cover, take it off the burner and let it sit, 10 mins later perfect.
 
My personal favorite is Malt-O-Meal but it's getting harder to find. Second choice is the rolled oats dressed up with cinnamon, butter, maple syrup and blueberries (alternatively raisins or craisins). Steel cut oats are good too when I have the time to simmer them.
 
I also am a big fan of McCann's steel cut Irish oatmeal. 25-30 minutes to cook, but worth the wait. We usually have it on Sunday morning with a variety of berries, bananas, walnuts, and dried cherries. And milk and honey. Accompanied by various word puzzles from the NY Times.
