How about a 41 Magnum Show and Tell?

May as well join the club again,

S-code An early 58

Looks like we all have some fine specimens.

i traded a Shield 9mm plus $150 for a 657-4. i wasn't really looking for a 41 mag but i had been wanting a S&W revolver for a while after owning a 1911 E, SDVE40, and the shield. great guns but not what Smith and Wesson's claim to fame. i think i got a good deal out of it all in all.

My only .41, for now. OM Ruger "Super 41" I call it.

Like your guns. Never have seen grip adapters like your on "N" frame guns. I have a 58 I bought in 1974. Still looks great and in box. I picked up a nickeled one after that because it was the first nickeled 58 I'd ever seen. Then got really lucky and came across a blued 58 marked SAPD. Unfortunately only my original gun has correct grips. Shoot the SAPD the most since it's not quite as good of shape as the other two guns. Like them all. Would ask if anyone knows if Jon Jovino or Lew Horton on their 3in model 57 cut hammers and smoothed triggers with the grip cut to round butt K frame size. Have one of these as well but wonder who sold it. Any information would be appreciated.

picked this up at the Berea Ohio gun show a few months back. It was on an obscure corner table of a private collector. He was complaining nobody has even looked at it,nobody wants a 41 Magnum. I happen to be looking for a 41. He had a table price of 725,I asked him what's the lowest he would take to get it off his table right now,he said 700. I would have grabbed it for the 725.
1980,pinned,recessed,nickeled,MagnaPorted.

About a month ago I picked up a 57-1 that no one wanted locally. The rounds are $2 per in the city so I took it off the owners hand for the high price of $389. I go outside the city to buy ammo so it's significantly cheaper and I'd also like to get into reloading. Here she is pictured with my Python, I was watching magnum force that night so I had to bust them both out.

Smoke-Wagon629, are we suppose to guess where you live? May help if you'd fill out your profile?
Steve

A little late to the party, but I made it! :D
My two S&W Model 57s in their glory. Superb handguns. I've had the 6-inch for some 30 years and the 4-inch for a couple of years. Both good shooters. Reliable. They've been on a lot of adventures with me.

Holy smokes, Smoke... that Python could use a little TLC, methinks. What kind of load do you use in your M57? If you get into reloading a bunch, it will really make shooting the .41 Mag a lot of fun.

Not sure how I missed this thread all these years but I'll add my two. Picked up this 57-1 a few months ago.

The 2nd year 57 I've had for several years.

Question, can you actually use the HKS speedloader with the target grips without damaging the grips finish?

I finally get to post in this thread! I just got my beater 28-2 back from being converted to .41mag by Mark Hartshorne a couple of days ago. He did an outstanding job.

That is really cool. How does it shoot?

I've only had time to run one quick cylinder full of 175gr Silvertips through it at about 10 yards. It shot straight and the recoil was very manageable, it's a bit muzzle heavy so that helps. Hopefully I can give it a good wringing out in the near future.
