How about that probation and the possibility of forfeiting all the games Cam has played in? How about possibly forfeiting the Heisman Trophy? I hope it doesn't happen but this mess has caused a very large cloud to hang over Alabama, the SEC, and football in general. Preachers should negotiate with god, not football. Ask Marcus Dupree.

The SEC released Newton and the University from charges. Papa Newton was banned from the game for his attempts. If there was meat to the allegations, a lot more would have been done by now. It was a near magical season - thank you Tigers & Coach CheezeWiz. On to the Ducks!!

Cam Newton has extreme marketing power for the NCAA.
They would be fools to force him out. It would be like the

Cam is clear. Auburn NEVER did anything wrong in the recruiting of Newton. Auburn is the SEC Champs. Going to play for the BCS National Championship game. Most likely Cam will hoist the Heisman Saturday.

Okay, I'll stir it up a bit. The NCAA and the SEC may be finished with it..... "for now". But there's a little group of guys called the FBI that aren't quite finished with it yet. See the article linked below. And before I get called a hater, and a jealous Bammer, I didn't write the article. I just read it, and personally think it stinks. And I think Bobby Lowder stinks. He needs to go.

I worked with David Housel, the former AD, back in '68-69 when we were both undergraduates and was impressed with his integrity. I had always wondered how he fell into that "Tarpit" trying to recruit the KY coach. These rich Alums definitely cause a lot of problems trying to work outside the system to "fix things". I'll bet that there are far too many in every conference...

I am an Auburn grad and I agree with you. Lowder was a crooked banker and he is a crooked trustee, alumni, anything else he is involved in. If AU turns out guilty of PFP they ought to pay the price. I imagine all the schools are guilty because you can't control the alumni. Many years ago I was at a car stereo shop in Athens, GA and saw the techs putting a $2K stereo in a player's new Firebird. This kid didn't have two nickels to rub together.
