I had an old friend stop by last night for a visit.. Talk got around to handguns and I told him I was looking for a 2" .357 mag, either K Frame or L frame. He told me he would be right back, went home and came back with a Model 66-3 2.5", with Pachmayr Grips. Told me he bought the 66-3 new and put the grips on it. He had the box and the factory RB grips to go with it.. Asked him what he wanted for it and he told me that he would sell it to me for $300.00. I told him it was worth more, but he said that I was a friend and that is all he wanted.. The 66-3 is in 98+% condition and has had less that 100 rounds shot through it.. Needless to say, I bought the 66-3 and my wife and I are taking the old gentleman out to dinner tomorrow night..

Deals are out there if you can find them..

You did quite well!! I hope you are taking him someplace nice for dinner.

Good deal! I bet he was glad to keep it in the family so to speak

You did great. I like that you told him it was worth more than he wanted and that you are taking him to dinner. A man with class doesn't have to look like the cover of GQ. You got class.

I suspect your friend let it go cheap because he felt it was going to a good home. Telling him it was too cheap showed a lot of class, as does taking him out for dinner.

You ain't askin,' You're braggin"!!:)

Very nice acquisition, and kudos to you for offering more and takin' him to dinner.

Sounds like you probably earned that gun some time in the past, that's what friends are about.

Good deal and good friend. it doesn't get much better than that. Enjoy your 357. and your friendship with this man.
