How do you carry a model 10?

As a follow up on my post: "What do you do with a model 10?" How do you carry your model 10? I am thinking mainly about 4 inch models and concealed carry.

I like IWB carry and ordered a White Hat BaseMax holster to try out. I figure it should work for 4 and 2 inch barrels and hopefully work for Ruger Security Sixes, 4 and 2 3/4 inch as well.

Lots of people like IWB, but I live in a place where I'm always wearing a jacket or sweatshirt so I carry OWB. For me, it's more comfortable. That said, I usually carry a Makarov. I have carried the Model 10 at times, but mainly when it goes to the range.

Believe it or not, the 4-inch K-Frames are not that hard to conceal. They do require a good holster and one that fits close to to the body.

I have IWBs, but I prefer a good Don Hume H720, H721 or my favorite, H726. I have worn Model 19s, 15s, 13s and 10s in 4-inch trim.

You must dress around the gun to get the best results. Again, not hard to do. A gun belt is the foundation to all things...

I use Remora holsters, different holsters for the 2" and 4".
For inexpensive holsters, they work very well for me and have some neat features. Here's a video on them:

I use a Bianchi IWB holster with my Model 67. It's nice and thin. The 4" tapered barrel on my 67 is pretty lightweight and conceals pretty easily.

I don't know if I would want to conceal carry a heavy barrel Model 10 though.

I don't carry my 10 often because I have a Model 12, but when I do it's in an OWB pancake holster....and I wear suspenders.

I do not have a Model 10, but have concealed carried my 4" 686 a few times in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake holster. Longer shirts are a must if this route is taken, and I have always done this while wearing a jacket.

I carry my 3" HB M10 in a Bianchi 111 Cyclone belt holster. The weight is a bit much for my liking, but nevertheless it conceals pretty well and is not too uncomfortable for all day carry.

I'm not built for IWB, and even if I was, I don't like my guns getting all sweaty. There are any number of OWB leather holsters that will carry your 4" Model 10 high and tight . . . Seems like a lot of mass for the six rounds you get, but there's a lid for every pot . . .

I carry a 4 inch K frame quite a bit. I tend to take the cheap inside the waist band and clip it in my right front pocket with a light shirt in the summer. Found an old buckhiemer spring clip shoulder holster at a pawn shop in like new shape and once I got used to it really fell in love with it. It holds a pistol high and tight butt up just under the arm pit and out of the way. Both are comfortable, don't shift and don't print with a 4 inch 10 pencil barrel. Being a little thick around the middle I never have been able to make a inside the waist band holster work for me.

Both my model 10 and my model 19 get carried in my dad's 25 year old desantis holster he got as a young cop.

The old Bianchi Shadow 8L is my favorite holster for the 4" K frames.

This Galco is a close second.

I've been carrying 10-5 (2" barrel) OWB. IWB just doesn't carry as well for me with K frame or larger revolvers. I've had good luck with Lobo Gun Leather.

How do you carry a model 10?

WITH PRIDE.

Ok I'm not being a smart guy, they are a fantastic carry gun & with some of the .38 Specials available today a viable carry option.

Now to the nuts & bolts. I'm getting to re-like the old pancake holsters we used in the 70s & 80s. I don't know why they went out of style they are a very good carry option. I like the Simply Rugged, it can be had with inside out straps which makes it a good pancake OWB & a great IWB all in the same holster Simply Rugged Holsters - Holsters, Gun Belts, Ammo Pouches and Accessories

Another holter I like is the Mernickle Bob offers several designs & they are well made & pretty stylish. MERNICKLE HOLSTERS

Something I have found, a black holster if worn under a jacket & the jacket rides up exposing the toe of the holster is WAY less likely to be seen than a nice tan one. I've tried it in front of a mirror & it's true.

I carry mine in an old Bianchi X-15 shoulder holster. I like it because it fits my Browning Hi-Power as well as my Model 10 and holds the pistol vertical. God Bless.

I like two in the belt with Barami grips and rubber bands tightly around the grips. Plus two speed loaders = big comfort zone.

Carrying My 10

My two M-10s, along with my M-18 and 19, ride in my Lobo GunLeather Enhanced Avenger. I normally wear Wrangler blue jeans and an un-tucked shirt. The set up works well for me.
