I'm curious, how do you typically carry?

Multiple choice poll; pick all that apply:
Pocket, no holster
Pocket with holster
Belt, no holster
Belt, IWB
Belt, OWB
Shoulder
Other (Smart Carry, Sneaky Pete, etc.)

In your reply, please indicate which method is most common for you.

Let's see.... IWB, pocket with holster, shoulder.

I'd say IWB and pocket have traditionally been my most common, IWB the most common. Shoulder is rare and in jacket weather.

AIWB with holster for the Shield 9. AIWB with holster, pocket with holster or ankle holster for the PM9.

Some folks do it 'open' and I'm fine with that. More than open vs concealed, I am curious to find out how forum members carry.

This is an 'anonymous' poll--at least as anonymous as anything can be--other people can't see what poll choice you selected. ;)

I should add my preference: OWB is what works best for me, and pocket carry with a holster only if the OWB doesn't work (for whatever reason.)

I carry a Sig P38 in .380 - cocked & locked & holstered, in my right front pocket, all the time.

Where's ankle?

...and what's "smart" carry,

Whoops, forgot ankle. :o
Guess that will fall into the 'other' category. At this time, even including ankle in 'other,' there are not many votes for 'other.'

Google "Smart Carry." I've never used it but I have heard of them.

I carry my Shield in a leather OWB holster from Wright Leather Works. If I am wearing jeans, I carry it on one of their solid bull hide belts. It is 1/4" x 1 1/2" one piece. If I am wearing shorts, I carry it on a Wilderness Instructor Belt with 5 rows of switching. I have another OWB Wright holster on order for my 640-1.

On rare occasions when OWB doesn't work, I pocket carry a .380 in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster.

Primary IWB in Kramer holster, BUG in Galco pocket holster.

Shoulder holster for primary on occasion, mostly when wearing a suit. (Read: When doing "official" stuff at church.)

OWB on even rarer occasions, like when its actually cold here. (Two weeks in February. ;))

And ankle almost never, but I have many moons ago.

OWB or shoulder holster. I've never liked IWB carry and I only carry FS (4"-5" bbl.) guns so ankle holster is out of the question-LOL :-)

I prefer leather, usually pancake/open top. I do have a Fobus for the SD9VE and also a Blackhawk CQC Serpa for the SD9VE and my 1911 45acp.

Duty weapon on hip OWB, backup on ankle. When field carrying an N-Frame, belt OWB.

IWB - By carrying IWB I gain an additional +-3" of shirt coverage which helps maintain concealment greatly.

Even with "tall" size shirts if I'm not careful when carrying OWB it is very easy to have my shirt pull up enough to reveal the holster/pistol barrel.

Carry OWB at home and IWB when going out. I prefer OWB because it's far more comfortable, but harder to conceal. It kind of defeats the Shield's thin frame.

442 L/F pocket in a Galco soft leather pocket holster or just like OIF2, same L/H IWB holster and all.
