How do you do this

Hi everyone new to the forum (please forgive the user name no disrespect intended). I just got my first AR, a S&W M&P 15 sport and I am wondering how to do this type of thing to it

Specifically I am referring to the handguard, removal of the front sight etc...

You purchase a M&P 15T that comes configured like that out of the box, instead of a Sport.

But, if you already bought Sport, you either replace the front sight with a low profile gas block, or use a dremel to cut down your existing gas block. You will have to remove the flash hider in order to remove the gas block, the front guard cap, and the delta ring assembly. You may also have to replace the barrel nut, depending on if the handguard you purchased has a proprietary note or uses the standard one.

By the time you purchase the parts and tools to do the job right, you could have purchased the 15T configured the way you wanted it to start with.

The best thing you can do to your Sport is to just shoot it.

The link isn't working but if you want to swap out your hand guard and fsp, find the hand guard you want and then take it to a local gunsmith to swap out. They shouldn't charge you more than an hours worth of time unless you want to buy all the tools to spit yourself. Most any low profile block should work.

Part of the fun of owning an AR.. You'll make mistakes on purchases, we've all been there, but honestly, the AR is just a giant black hole that sucks up money.. A lot of money... You might even buy more than one, as you mentioned, different ARs for different uses or just a different feel/look or to give one to your wife/gf or kid (but we really know it's just an excuse for you to get another AR while still secretly owning it)
