How fast can a 357 mag, 158gr LSWC be loaded to?

She is a D_ _ _ _ _ _ t!

Well Spotted,
I don't think she would intentionally tell you something that wasn't true, do you?

(Only if it helped her get elected! ;) First Gentleman Mike! MY WORD!)

Skip,

I have only been shooting informally, larger targets at 100 yards or so. I can normally hit a 30# freon can at 100 yards without a problem. The main problem is being able to see the target at longer ranges. :(

Open sights are going to be a challenge for me, but I may hang a scope on it to do a little more accuracy testing.

I did shoot at a 245 yard gong, but I had a hard time getting my wibble to coordinate with my wobble. I might do a little better (shot over it last time) with a better rest. ;)

One of these days, I'll post a picture of the uncharred cloth patch I recovered from a ML shot. I have never recovered a cast bullet that had any signs of base melt.

Yup,
You can do it easily following the wise advice above. As can be done with .44 Magnum too.
(BTW Skip, governor Christine Gregoire (Wa.) wouldn't allow her state EPA to do that! After all, her state EPA sent me an E mail pre-election to say that they had NO intentions of doing so, after I enquired about it?)
Right! She also probably told you they will not be implementing any new gloabal warming laws too. Nope, Washington is going lead free ww just like Kalif. We are the first (this year) & the rest of the west will follow shortly.

Rem 158gr. hp bullet and longshot 7.5grs. ?

Good load or not??? in 2.5" 686 and m19??

I've had different results from what you have had.

I can normally hit a 30# freon can at 100 yards without a problem. The main problem is being able to see the target at longer ranges. :(

I have never recovered a cast bullet that had any signs of base melt.

I hope the freon can was empty or you will have the Texas Department of EPA down on your head! ;)

I would be interested about accuracy after you hang a scope on it. I never could get my 44mag Handi to shoot like I thought it should so I gave up.

As for the base melt issue, I have had that happen. I know it might seem strange but it has happened. Out of the Marlin several years ago I had a load with WC820 that did it. I was using commercially cast bullets though. I think that had something to do with it.

At any rate, keep us informed! :)

Skip,

I'll see about getting it done in the near future. I made a 330 mile round trip to Dallas today (delivered a C_ _ t light weight Commander to my son-in-law), which hasn't done my catching up any good. :(

I've also been mowing what seems like daily for the last couple of weeks. Global warming finally got here and dropped us from the 100+ range to 80+ with rain! Since I mow about 3 acres, I had to resort to mowing my front yard with a 40 hp tractor and bush hog.
