I see quite a few members use Tapatalk - so I went to the iTunes store to download it. The reviews weren't that good - apparently even the paid version (for Apple) has a lot of popups and annoyance ads.

What says the wizards of SWF? Is it a pain or is it worthwhile? Thanks!!

I've had no issues. Occassionally, I log off and log back in for a minor glitch, but every software and hardware computer thingymabob requires that. I downloaded it when they had a special free offer. Works fine on my samsung "smart"phone. Much better for navigating multiple forums on a mobile device and requires only one login. You can also manage notifications for all forums from tapatalk. I know some people don't like it, but it makes things easier for me...at least that's what 7 out of 10 voices in my head tell me.

I have Android so it may be different. Been using it for years and no pop-ups. It's simple layout, easy to navigate. You get all the pictures but without the graphics. Fast and easy.

Occasionally it crashes but that's rare. It happens to me a few times a year.

Also easier to post pictures from. Just click on the picture icon, select picture and hit send.

Hers how mine looks

I have it on this iPad but mostly don't use it.
As I have posted before, I like Chrome.
Using it right now.
Strongly recommend Chrome on the iPad.

I use "dark mode" on my tapatalk. It seems to cause less eye fatigue for me.

Yes, pictures, links, videos, etc., are much easier to post via tapatalk. As I said, I mostly navigate forums on my phone.

Exactly. I use mine for forums. OP, in settings you can change the layout to whatever you like

I used to use it on my Samsung Galaxy 4G when I worked at the Cleveland Clinic and had a lot of time sitting around waiting for processes to run when I was replacing PCs. It worked ok.

The problem I had was that that phone just didn't have enough memory for much of anything, and was constantly crashing.

Now I almost never use a phone for internet, except emergencies. I imagine it would work just fine on my Nexus 5.

I don't care for it on my iPad. I'll use it on my phone if I just have to get on a forum, but I can usually wait until I get home.

Thank you very much to each and all for your input!! I did not know that it has a dark mode – which is great for my cataract-affected eyes. Downloading in a minute ... :)
